Learning is fun! Bilingual and bicultural education!

We aim to develop international (bilingual and trilingual) people with a variety of enrichment programs so that they can have their own roots, acquire the ability to think complex thoughts and be an active and productive member in the world.

[Enrichment Program]
Daily individual instruction by active musicians: (instruments and violin)
Daily group instruction: (rhythmics and vocalization)
(Tea ceremony) in a  traditional-authentic tea room, over 100 years old (Chinese and IGO).

This school was established with the aim of nursing true international people. Teachers who have a wealth of educational experience in Montessori education
from the United States and other countries, as well as in international schools in Japan are assigned to lead, develop and guide students to a greater path of life.

Based on my long experience living abroad and as a teacher in the field of education, I strongly feel that it is desirable for Japanese people to develop an international sense of communication  based on their identity as Japanese .

Today, when conversations in English are required on a daily basis, it is inevitable that the existing English education will change.
Being able to speak English is not enough.

We believe that it is possible to raise bilingual and bicultural children by learning Japanese language and culture at Japanese schools as in the past, and by receiving efficient English education from experienced teachers at our school .

Based on the Montessori educational philosophy that values the individual learning in English ,

You will learn science, mathematics, music, and other traditional Japanese culture such as calligraphy, tea ceremony, and Go in English. There is also a fun learning that is possible only in the natural environment of Mt. Kamakura.

Proposals
Please enjoy learning Japanese culture and Japanese language at home or at school.
And let’s study English in Kamakurayama.

What is the field of Montessori education?

“About Montessori”

1) Practicing daily life
In the important field that forms the basis of all activities, we practice various exercises (movements) that are performed in daily life using real equipment that is child-sized. You will learn to feel the beauty of the real thing and to treat things with care because they are fragile.

It’s not that kids can’t do it, it’s just that they don’t know how to do it. First, the teacher calls out to the child, “Mitete ne”, and slowly and carefully shows how to do a series of actions (including removing the tools from the shelf and putting them away).

2) Sensory education
By experiencing concepts such as “large and small, long and short, thick and thin, and texture”, the five senses develop and the ability to understand and learn things is deepened. In sensory education, the function of intelligence is Awakened through the operation of “recognizing the same thing”, “comparing and sorting”, and “classifying”.

3) Language education
Children who have spent time in a well-organized environment will be able to read, listen, write and “speak” naturally when they are mentally prepared. At our school, we organize programs according to the individual development of children, and eventually they will be able to “read”, “listen”, “write” and “speak” and convey their own thoughts to others.

4) Mathematics education
Learn the concept of quantity while grasping concrete quantities, numbers, and weights using real objects. Then, students will learn “numerical words” that express the quantity and “numerals” that are symbols used in writing. While taking detailed steps with systematic teaching materials, they will be able to easily learn the decimal system, recognition of consecutive numbers, and addition, subtraction, multiplication and division based on memory.

5) Cultural education
In order to establish an identity as a Japanese so that we can spread our wings in the world, we conduct tea ceremony, calligraphy, and Go in the tea room. In addition, there are Chinese, violin lessons by professional violinists , and rhytmics by professional vocalists.

A detailed explanation will be given at the time of trial admission, so please come and visit us
